Pros: BS1 Enterprise Accounting is part of the larger offering from the same publisher, the BS1 Enterprise with Manufacturing. It is a multi-currency distribution and accounting system. It contains several modules General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Inventory, Purchase Orders, Sales Orders and Quotes, Sales Analysis, and Bank Reconciliation. The launch pad fits compactly on your screen. Selecting an application from the drop-down list sets the toolbar to the four most frequently used options. Sales order for example has the customers, orders, shipments and the reports functionality.

Sales orders typically would be printed initially as quotes for customer approval. On approval it becomes on order and packing slips are created to be forwarded to the shipping department. As typically part shipments may be allowed, there may be multiple packing slips and bills of lading. Invoices created out of shipment data are generated automatically. A consolidated report on current inventory, sales orders and purchase orders helps scheduling of shipments, purchasing and manufacturing.

Multi-currency accounting is called for by the necessity to facilitate purchasing and selling in different countries. While the general ledger has everything done in native currency only, the profit and loss due to exchange fluctuations are tracked separately to facilitate accounting. Customized financial statements can be viewed easily via a simple set up process. General ledger account totals and inventory total are shown on screen and one is able to drill down to the original source transactions. Getting started with the package is simplified by a wizard that sets up even the common GL accounts. These can be modified if necessary, of course. Customizing is easy end the source code is available for linking to several databases.

Overall: An application with a lot of useful features and customization tools available, this one is good for 4 stars.
