CodeTwo Public Folders extends functionality of the Outlook to make workgroup collaboration easier. Using this software contacts, e-mails, tasks, calendars etc can be shared with all users of a workgroup.
Pros: CodeTwo Public Folders will turn your Outlook into a workgroup software. Contacts, e-mails, tasks, calendars, etc can be shared between members of a user group. The software allows users to create public folders in Microsoft Outlook and share them on a local network, access shared e-mails, organize a global contact list as well as schedule tasks and meetings for a group of users by several people simultaneously; you can keep a common address book and contact base, create electronic message boards and discussion groups, manage the rights of access to public folders, work with public folders in the offline mode and so on. Each user get a list of these public files separately listed after their individual personal files.
CodeTwo PublicFolders does this by installing the client module on each of the participating members. The program synchronizes data between Outlook clients and synchronizes the folders immediately in the background. This is done automatically in real-time so that every one has a current copy. Except for this additional list of folders, integrated into the Outlook folders list, there’s no other change in the Outlook operation. Thus there’s hardly any learning required. Users can become productive right away. Changes made by one user are immediately synchronized in real-time and are made visible for the rest of the users on other computers in the network.
Cons: The application works seamlessly with Outlook, no problem whatsoever noticed.
Overall: The application does its job very well, no changes in the interface one is used to and is intuitive. This is certainly a 5 star package.
