PDMLynx is a product data management software aimed for the engineering and manufacturing businesses. This tool helps manage part numbers, bill of materials, engineering documents, engineering change orders and approved manufacturers and suppliers. It helps you manage engineering and manufacturing documents for your organization`s products. You are able to easily find, track, share, control, and modify documents you`ve created. This is meant for workgroup use, between departments and across the organization. Everybody can see the same version of documented data. PDMLynx uses a simple, auditable, electronic ECO approval and release process that ensures revision control on every document and BOMs that require it. Accurate and efficient management of the elements of the PDM eliminates any bottlenecks and confusion caused by disorganized documents. The notifications` window helps alert all users about any ECO activity. The users to be alerted of any changes in ECO activity can be configured.

The interface provides access to Administration, Supplier module, Parts module, BOMs module, and Products module. Users only see the modules for which they have authorization. The software supports customer-defined part number formats. Macro-level parts categories are created through the use of prefixes. Revisions are tracked. Part number can be assigned; Part description, Source Code and other related data could be captured. The complete part number data set is exportable to a tab delimited file for import into other tools or external information queries. The BOM Manager presents the list of part number prefixes which, when selected, populate the part number window with the complete list of parts for the prefix selected. BOM creation and maintenance are part of the features offered by the tool. ECO management spans all documents under PDMLynx control; externally created documents and BOMs created within the software. This is a very useful tool.
