First left click on the red Go arrow in the lower right corner of this window and the Shultz Table will appear. Your main strategy is to softly look at the red dot in the center of the table and continue to see this cent.
Features: Research shows that there is little relationship between reading rate and comprehension. So speed reading can actually help comprehension. Rereading slows you down and interrupts comprehension. At a logical level, you use the knowledge of the subject to fill in needed information. Just couple of paragraphs may give you access to the information on the page, visually one is able to process a page of information at a time anyway. Speed reading actually helps comprehension. To be able to improve your reading speed your peripheral vision should absorb all the information presented on a page. This game or training program helps you do that.
This training utility lets you develop peripheral vision. It lets you concentrate on a central area and then creates changes in the periphery. Changes are made in the periphery, a single change at a time. You are expected to notice the same. If you do, there is a kind of reward and if you fail you get additional area in the target turning red. That makes you focus more. This you need to do without going back over the area with your eyes, you have to pick up the changes with your peripheral vision. This training increases peripheral vision and assists you in raising the velocity of your reading to a speed reading level.
Overall: This is a nice way of training your peripheral focus. If it is the right method of training or not is a different issue.
