Checkbook is an electronic checkbook register. You enter transactions into Checkbook just as you would on your paper version.

Pros: Checkbook is an electronic checkbook maintenance application. It lets you reconcile your account details against statements received from the bank as well as transactions made by you as per the checkbook. As long as you are able to make all the entries correctly the program will take care of sorting and arranging all the transactions properly and getting you the current balances on each of your checking accounts. The program will help you maintain up to 100 accounts if you should need that. When updating an account you need to open it by a given name rather than a complex account number that is difficult to remember. Deleting an account is also possible as is renaming facility. Use this option to export your Checkbook data to a tab delimited text file (*.txt). This allows you to import the data into a spreadsheet. When exporting data, you will be given the option to export All or a Range of transactions. If you select All, all the transactions that you see on your screen will be exported into the file. If you select Range, input the beginning date and the ending date of the range of transactions you want to export. When printing, you will need to make sure the transactions you want to print are displayed in the view selected. You can elect to print all or a range of transactions. Find will find you a specific transact and insert date will let you insert current date to a transaction you are adding or updating. Several date formats could be chosen from the options available. You protect access to the details by a suitable password.

Cons: It saves you the bother of setting up a spreadsheet, not too many functionality that add value. Besides like many of these data based applications, you must keep the data completely updated or the value is reduced tremendously.

Overall a nice 3 star application.
