The software is very good. It saved me from the trouble typing a big bunch of typewritten sheets. But it is necessary to proof read the text typed, as a few characters are not recognized properly. Otherwise very useful.

Just downloaded and installed it. I ran a delivery invoice through it with plenty of numbers, delivery details etc. Any of these details would be a disaster if copied wrongly. Utterly amazed to find it got all text perfectly . . . the only thing that wasn`t quite right were the columns, but that could be handled easily by selecting areas of a page and scanning individually. For a free product, it is marvellous!

Superb. A brilliant piece of software which has just saved me hours of retyping text from various .gif files. :) However, go to the publisher`s website because it`s currently at version 2.4 (rather than v1.5 available here). Requires .net framework v2 on winXP

Great Piece of software, did a very good job. One Little problem I came across is J being read as ], but that said, most of the words were correct. Even on some difficult fonts.

Simple, free, and works rather decently. Just updated Oct 2007, check out the publisher`s page. Agree with the other reviewers, recommended!

WOW! This is great. I GOOGLED "free ocr" and this was listed. Download and installation took just a matter of seconds and I tried it immediately. I scanned a rather lengthly letter I really did not want to re-type and other than a few misspelled words it worked perfectly. I only needed to remove the hard carriage returns and it was done. I heartily recommend this OCR software.
