Keeper is a point-of-sale invoicing system, inventory management system, and sales analysis system. It is designed to analyze the kinds of sales your shop is making as well as keep constant track of your sales, customers, and inventory.

Pros: This package manages point of sale invoicing, managing inventory and is able to analyze sales data arising from the POS transactions. Tracking of sales, customers and suppliers is easy to do too.

As each stock code is entered a description is shown. That can act as a check against price tag switching attempted by anyone. A total receipts report at the end of the day is a check on the cash register total collections. One can keep track of customers and even their wish list. Get a check on the wish list while updating any new receipts into the inventory.

For the analysis of sales data functions one can specify as many categories of the products carried in the store for tracking. You can get reports on total sale amounts as also as a percentage of total sales over a day. One is able to identify the fast moving and not so fast moving items, thereby investments in stock can be optimized to avoid expenses on items on the shelf. Inventory keeper prints price tags with or without barcodes after inventory details are taken into stock and pricing is decided. Minimum and reorder levels of each item can be specified. One can display/print statements indicating total owed to a supplier and his details so that payments can be made easily to these suppliers by the end of the month. Keeper also gives you totals for sales, cost of goods sold, and gross profit for any period you specify — figures you can transfer directly to your general ledger and thus on to P&L statements. Keeper has special features for tracking consignment sales if the business requires such facilities.

Cons: Bar code readers at the point of check out would be a useful feature, not clear if the application supports that.
