Editor's review

This software tool helps add a digital signature to PDF documents you produce.

Aloaha PDF Signator can help attach a digital signature to any existing PDF Document. No special preparation work is necessary to be able to attach a signature. Without the digital signatures, it will be hard to verify the source the document came from. The PDFs re not tamper-proof as commonly believed. The signature of the PDF can be automatically checked by any standard PDF viewer including the Acrobat Reader. Thus invoices, tenders submitted by parties can be easily authenticated to have come from the right source. There is no need to install anything special to for signature verification. Similarly for creation of the documents, there is no need to use the full Adobe Acrobat or Adobe Document Server for Reader extensions which are expensive. Using PDF Signator you can open, view and navigate PDF documents directly within the same program. This lets you view and sign the document all from the same application. Timestamps via remote RFC 3161 Timestamping Server or inbuilt RFC 3161 TSA are possible. More than one person can sign the document. Each of these signatory`s antecedents can be verified independently.

Aloaha PDF Signator supports software certificates and SmartCards/e-ID Cards including CSP (Crypto Service Provider) supported SmartCards. Some SmartCards are supported natively and does not require a CSP to be installed. The tool is PKI compatible and works with PKI components from any vendor. Such components include CAs, certificates, CRLs, OCSP responders, smartcards, etc. It is absolutely easy to use. This is a tool that can help you maintain compliance with several security related regulations such as EU Directive for Electronic Signatures, Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX), Uniform Electronic Transactions Act (UETA), US Electronic Signatures in Global and National Commerce Act (E-Sign), Government Paperwork Elimination Act (GPEA) and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). If you deal with large amount of PDF documents that need to be protected this one tool could be invaluable.
