Pivot4U Add-in enhances Microsoft Excel with a new useful feature - editable pivot tables. A pivot table is a data summarization tool that, among other functions, can automatically sort, count, and total the flat data stored in one table or spreadsheet and create a second table displaying the summarized data. For all its advantages, Excel has some limitations. One of them is the missing ability to change the data directly in the data area of a pivot table. The pivot table is linked to the source data, and what you see in the cells of the table are read-only values. But with Pivot4U in place, you can go beyond this limitation and make your pivot table editable.
Let's say, for example, you have a spreadsheet with the plan of sales for some products. The spreadsheet is named "SourceData" and it has the following fields: Region, Color, Month, Sales. You want to change some values in the pivot table generated from the data in this sheet. With Pivot4U, this operation is a breeze to do. Create a pivot table from the data in the "SourceData" sheet, go to the "Add-Ins" tab of Microsoft Excel, select "Pivot4U On" and set the cursor on any cell in the pivot table. Now you can change the value in the cells directly from, say "650" to "830". When the value is changed, all totals are recalculated automatically.
With Pivot4U Add-in in place, all the power of calculations and planning "FROM ABOVE-DOWNWARD" becomes accessible without complex and costly software.

Pivot4U is an add-in for Microsoft Excel. Once installed, it allows you to edit data directly in pivot tables. All the power of calculations and planning FROM ABOVE-DOWNWARD becomes readily available without sophisticated and expensive software.
Pros: Most everyone using Microsoft Excel has experienced the frustration that comes from the missing ability to edit pivot tables. With standard Excel, you can either change the tabular information without seeing a general picture or conveniently review reports in a pivot table without the ability to change anything directly.
The application adds a menu item Excel4u.net. Clicking on this presents an option of editing the pivot table by clicking on the Pivot4U on. A confirmation request appears here. Clicking ok turns on the Pivot4U and thereby the cell edit function of the pivot table. Now, go and change the value of any cell that you need to and all the numbers in the table are recalculated. To be able to go back and forth between the source data and the pivot table generated and see the effect of changes in either one needs this edit facility of pivot table cells. The standard excel does not allow that. Whereas now with the Pivot4U installed one does have the ability to edit any particular cell in the pivot table. Now any pivot table, using an Excel sheet as source data, will grow into a powerful tool for planning, calculations or form of data entry. All the power of calculations and planning ”FROM ABOVE-DOWNWARD“ will become accessible without complex and costly software.
Cons: Nothing problematic here.
Overall: Does add a very powerful functionality that adds in the analyzing capability of data in Excel. This is a definite 4 star application.
