Create Bates ranges from IPRO LFP load files. This application was designed with the litigation support professional in mind. Now you can begin and end bates, as well as begin and end attachments ready for import into a database.
Features: LFPConverter detects relevant information from the IPRO LFP or the load files. Using this information the converter is able to create Bates numbers. Bates numbering is used in the legal, medical, and business fields to place identifying numbers and/or date/time-marks on images and documents as they are scanned or processed. Bates Stamping can be used to mark and identify images with copyrights by putting a company name, logo and/or legal copyright on them. This process provides identification, protection, and auto-increment numbering of the images whereby each page of each document has a unique number on it. Bates numbering is commonly used as an organizational method to label and identify legal documents. Bates numbering (named for the Bates automatic numbering machine), assigns an arbitrary unique identifier to each page. Such "numbering" may be solely numeric or may contain a combination of letters and numbers. There is no standard method for numbering documents.
LFP files (also called load files) are used to build the image database and to instruct IPRO View how to display a project’s images. The image’s file location; file type, boundary, and Bates number make up the LFP file. Each record (or line) in the LFP file begins with a 2-letter code that determines the action the viewer will perform. Commas separate some parts of the record along with semi-colons for the rest of the line. The command in the LFP file takes effect after you load or import the LFP file Bates numbers thus created lets you include begin/end attachment ranges, files an have concordance or summation.
Overall: Clearly for a very specialized use this generates Bates numbers from load files. It is a legal requirement that every document and every page in each of them be uniquely identified. This converter helps do that from load files that are created by the scanning agency.
