Omni print software application provides printer sharing between the UNIX and windows applications. It also provides expert bi-directional printer sharing as the UNIX users can use PC printers and the windows user can use the UNIX printers simultaneously.

NFS printer client, LPD printer server, LPR printer client, LPR hosts Host editor are some of the components of this software application. While the NFS printer client enables print jobs to remote NFS printer servers, the LPD prints jobs assigned by many hosts or networks.

The application queues printing jobs and sends them to any local printer that is attached. LPR prints the local PC files on remote printers. XLinks enables easy usage and configuration of the LPR feature, which can then be used by just pointing and clicking.

LPR also defines remote LPD servers through its printing database. The host editor creates the database used by the software application.
