RationalPlan Multi Project is a powerful project management software capable of handling multiple interrelated projects and covering project management areas starting with WBS construction, project planning and scheduling to progress tracking etc.
Pros: RationalPlan Multi Project is a project management software on similar lines as the MS Project. Project managers can develop plans, allocate resources and then monitor implementation. That includes tracking the tasks and overall progress and updating the plan as and when required. Managing budgets and analyze as well as balance workloads. It helps manage multiple projects that may be inter-connected. One task in a given project may be dependent on the completion of a different task in another project. Resources may be shared. This application would let you handle such situations too. The multi plan version of the product handles such situations easily. Other situation can be handled with the single plan version.
For planning purposes several features could be useful. The WBS or the work breakdown structure provides a means of getting down to detailed tasks and dependence between them. Gantt chart provides the complete network of tasks and the interrelationships so that the critical path is obvious to the planners. Resource view, task sheet and the resource sheet are the other tools that help you pin down all the issues having a bearing on the way the project is to be executed. Multi scenario capability will let you try and find the best alternative and the multiple levels of undo/ redo will let you come back to a known point easily.
