XStudio is a graphical test management application that handles the complete life-cycle of your QA/testing projects; users requirements, specifications, SUTs, tests, test plans, test reports, campaigns and linkages to defects.

Pros: XStudio application lets the user manage the complete lifecycle of testing a product in an organization. Actual deployment could be completely distributed. XAgent modules running on hosts deploy the tests over machines. XAgent running as a windows service lets the user manage the testing, both automatic and manual remotely. XStudio along with the MySQL database manages the testing over distributed hosts remotely.

The graphical user interface lets you manage all aspects of testing such as user requirements, the software units under test, test plans, test reports and even defect management. My SQL is the primary data base that holds the test data and the documentation. Document versioning also is maintained.

The XStudio user interface is simple to use and helps integrate tests that are already available and tests that are being planned. These tests can be in any language such as C/C++, Java, C#, Python, Perls, JUnit, CUnit, VB Script, JavaScript or the set of proprietary test development languages that are available. A manual launcher and two others come standard with the application. The manual launcher helps execute manual tests from the database. Success and Random launchers are provided as templates for launchers to be integrated.

As testing is launched the history is maintained of the actual execution of the tests. The application provides API for launchers. The interface helps manage the complex integration and the process reasonably simply, one needs domain knowledge of course.

Cons: No obvious problems noticed.

Overall: Fairly well designed solution for a complex yet a very necessary problem this is a 4 star item.
