AlfaClock enhances your tray clock functionality. It can speak the time, start Windows applications at a specified time and indicate processor and memory loads and more.
Features: Though many clock products are available and all of them attempt to enhance the functionality of the system tray clock, many of these enhancements are superficial. It may just addition of skins that customize the look and other bells & whistles but may not really add functionality worth the name. Quite often it just takes up CPU time! AlfaClock application on the other hand enhances the system tray clock functionality. It customizes the look of course. You can customize fonts, colors, background and other stuff.
The application has a set of pre-defined templates to display time. This may include day, date, day of week and other details in several formats. You are able to define your own format/template too. In addition to being a watch for you it can watch PC health in terms of processor and memory usage. It synchronizes the time via atomic time servers available on the net. Some additional features include the clock talking out the time. It can remind/alert you at specified times. It can also start up applications for you in the Windows environment. A built in calendar and display of time at different time zones are additional features.
Overall: It is essentially clock. Features have been extended by the atomic clock synchronization and some other enhancements. Very niche product but does the work for that niche quite well.
