This free tool is the demo/trial version of the main computer-aided design tool from the developer company. It will let you get familiar with thermal design calculations of Shell & Tube condensers. This utility can help you with designing of horizontal condensers, and vertical condensers. This trial version will demonstrate thermal analysis and design calculations required for designing shell and tube condensers. Several variations of the condenser can be taken care of including horizontal shell side condensers, horizontal tube side condensers, vertical shell side condensers, vertical tube side condensers and reflux condensers. The software is meant for use of academicians for teaching as well as for practicing engineers to develop real-life products. Users with some understanding of thermodynamics, fluid flow and shell & tube heat exchangers will be able to operate the tool quite easily.
The tool will work with both the SI units and English units systems. Importing of data to the hot side as well as the cold side is possible from Excel tables. The data could be imported from WeBBusterZ physical properties database too. This database is included with the product. You could work on your project over multiple sessions. Results can be saved and retrieved as needed. Data could be exported in Excel format for editing. Results summary could be exported to MS Word and printed from there. Calculations that could be carried out include Horizontal shell side/Horizontal tube side/Vertical shell side/Vertical tube side and Reflux condenser design, Full condensation and Partial condensation calculations, etc. Sub cooling, Zone analysis; Shear Controlled and Gravity Controlled condensations are supported. The basis of calculations and assumptions made are displayed on a panel. Support Single phase vapor condensation on hot side and liquid coolant on the cold side, is supported. This is a very good tool.
