It provides real time protection too. Malware analysis is backed by detailed database of the malware to create an effective protective shield. The interface looks to be well designed. The top level one is clean and shows the controls available clearly.

Anti-malware, real time protection, DOG detection, and the status of automatic scan and updates are indicated as on or off. Color coded bands catch your attention quickly. The band is red if a protection is off. Scan status also is indicated. If you need an immediate scan you could start one. On the scan page, you have options of a smart scan, full scan or a custom scan. A progress bar display and stats of threats found helps. That lets you get a scan done quickly for the critical areas or a specific area you want to get scanned. This is a nice convenience! The protection page provides for protection against know threats as well as unknown threats that may come up. How effective such protection is can really be found over time, so trying it out may be the best bet.
