SpamWeed's refined Bayesian filter is very intelligent when it comes to tell which email is good and which is spam. At the beginning, SpamWeed may make a few mistakes. If it blocks a good email, you can simply go to SpamWeed Administrator Panel and move it to "legitimate mail box". By doing so, SpamWeed learns and improves future filtering accuracy. Usually after a few days' use, it can work completely to your satisfaction.
Some users are interested in only receiving emails from their whitelist contacts while blocking all other emails. By turning on "Only Receive Emails from Whitelisted Senders", the program allows you to do so.
Working as a POP3 proxy between your email server and email clients. SpamWeed scans and analyzes all your incoming messages, delivering only good mail to your inbox while junk mail is left in SpamWeed Junk Mail folder. SpamWeed gives you back a clean inbox.

The program works with all POP3 email clients such as Outlook, Outlook Express and Incredimail. It even directly integrates with Outlook and Outlook Express by add-in toolbars. The current version of SpamWeed also directly supports Hotmail accounts.

A spam filter that blocks all spam without filtering out good mail for POP3 clients such as Outlook, Outlook Express etc.
Pros: SpamWeed`s solution works as a proxy between the e-mail server and the Pop3 client. It is thus able to scan & analyze all incoming mail messages and delivers only the good ones to the inbox. All junk mail is contained in the junk mail folder of the SpamWeed. A clean inbox is the result. The application uses a Bayesian algorithm that is intelligent and is trainable.
Initially, when it filters out a good one all it takes is to go to the admin panel and identify the mail as good by moving it to the legitimate mail box. Filtering accuracy improves as more such examples are caught and in a few days usage the filter becomes very effective.
By selecting the option “only receive emails from white-listed senders” the software would deliver only such mail and nothing else. The filter is able to catch majority of virus infected mail, reducing the probability of the machine becoming infected. Most spam contain mail tracking bugs that reveal, at a minimum, if the mail has been read or not. SpamWeed can effectively disable such privacy bugs.

Cons: This application supports only POP3 clients not IMAP. It’d be nice if this support becomes available soon. Other issue is the secure password access, which is not supported now. Hopefully this too is integrated soon.
Overall: This package does seem to be quite effective. Real effectiveness can be judged only after sustained use over a period of, say, at least a week. A overall rating of 4 star is well deserved.
