The program - WHEN WORKING - is very useful. It is not perfect, but is great assist in pointing out ways that might improve the writing. It is helpful. I have a problem with it BOMBING. For the past week I have spent hours trying to keep it up and running. The Chat Room is of little help. They merely give the instructions on how to uninstall and then re-install - over and over. I cannot afford the time or effort to run through this procedure on every page or so. I have demanded a CD to use as backup - I just hope it works. The developers need to review their program and make corrections so it will remain UP. Needless to say - over the past week my frustration has grown and grown.

The software is not very useful, every very simply error it cannot pick up. and their marketing is very aggressive, keep sending spam, and even make voice call to ask for upgrading.

The software owner is the best marketer in the world, and the software is nothing more than a spell checker, which is free in most of other software like Ms. Word, It`s really not very useful, and they keep sending spam, even make phone call want me to upgrade to VIP package for a few hundred Euro.

The software started off ok...but then it gets ambitious and have lots of professional versions...I tested the version and found that they are in fact only one version....but sold under different version and names...then they refused to entertain any request for refund and questions....FIRE the Boss!! SCAM!!!

Great editing software for PC. I`m a writer. If you have a PC it really works well. I recommend it. I have MAC vs too, but it does not work. I think the MAC vs has to be used online. Waiting on reply from Whitesmoke about that.

thanks for warning me about it not working on the Mac and how unresponsive the company is! I will not download the free version or buy the software at 75% off. I checked out their website and they keep sending me e-mails everyday so I figured something wasn`t right. It says I only have so much time to buy at this low price, etc. I figure I better check this out and I saw alot of good reviews - but suspicisous still and thought this may be a scam - because they can post all of them and would do this if they are a smart scam artist. thanks again!

The only reason that I have not rated this 5 ****, is that any software has the possibility of improvement, but, it in fact it works extremely well, corrects the grammar, punctuation and spelling with explanations and more and more......Try it yourselves. Download it to check for yourselves

WhiteSmoke is kind of the most useful software on-line. So quick to download. It is really clear with the suggested corrections. The color coding is built for clarity. It separates the grammar, spelling, and choice of additional words. It is worth the small cost

If I were you, I would contact their support www.support@whitesmoke.com. I needed to ask a question and they were amazingly helpful. I am saying this because you need to double check with them. I understand there IS a MAC version. When you have done the above, please submit another review in order to update me. This comes form a curious satisfied user of WhiteSmoke. I simply love the product.

Never been so disappointed in a product! After being assured by a customer service rep that there was a Mac, I get scammed. There is no Mac application. Fraud for sure.

Beware of all the review and better writing websites that recommend WhiteSmoke. They are primarily websites set up solely to promote WhiteSmoke and not true review sites. Also, if you use WhiteSmoke you will lose all of your Word formatting when you paste your text back into your Word document.

I am a student and WhiteSmoke helps a lot when I write my papers , it takes me half the time to do grammar or spell checks, I really recommend the program.

I read the rewires on this site , and I don`t know what you people are talking about , the program is great and it finds most grammar mistakes , I bought WhiteSmoke recently and it changed my writing experience , I don`t worry about grammar or spelling any more, but the program have so many other things that help you with you every day writing. I love it , its great.

The wost program I have ever used. Conficts from the start; lock ups, no memory, lost info. etc. I received only one of the two programs I ordered. Even my emails went unaswered. They show no telephone numbers, and their email addreses do not work, unles you `reply" on their advertisement emails. Support is a sham. If you get an answer it is "We will contact you within a day." Right! I sent more than five emails and one fax to marketing without one answer. After three weeks I called my credit card to dispute the charge. Now I am told that they credited me seven days ago. All this without one notice from them. Not only is the software a joke, but the company concerns about a customer are non existent. They are deceitful.

I bought Whitesmoke. Guess how many errors it found in the paragraph below? Zero. I me think once good was Whitesmoke. But grammar found problems no can find. Whitesmoke said artificial intelligence it uses. Me think it intelligence most artificial. No can do it. Whitesmoke full of all smoke. How they say grammar, they check me confused very. I`ve filed a complaint with my credit card company to reverse the charge since they`re not being responsive to my refund requests. Others on the internet are also complaining that it`s a fraud.

Whitesmoke is a fraud! For Mac users, it can only be used online! One is not informed of this until AFTER it is purchased for $125!! Refunds, if requested, will take month to be processed. Don`t get suckered!!!
