Outlook is an excellent package but it's notification of new mail is very poor and if you do not have the client software running, then you do not get told at all that new mail has arrived. Email Notify gets round this problem by independently monitoring your Inbox for new messages. When they arrive you can decide how 'intrusive' you want the notification to be. As a minimum you get a flashingsystem tray icon. You can also play a sound file, show a large tooltip (see Fusion Tooltips), and automatically activate your Email client. Email Notify, although designed for Microsoft Outlook, will work with any MAPI compliant Email package.
