Mail Storage Center is an application that allows archiving e-mail, automatically and with absolute security.

Pros: Mail Storage Center archives e-Mails both sent and incoming. This being a regulatory requirement every organization needs to plan for a dependable archive for future reference whenever required. Mail Storage Center is also of great help to easily comply with the recent policy requirements in the field of electronic communication archiving and in privacy protections. Mail Storage Center is based on standard communication protocols ensuring a high degree of reliability and security of the information. This solution uses Certified Security e-Mail to provide a secure system. It archives the sent or received e-mail in SQL database to ease future retrieval in future. An anti-spam solution is built in. The anti-spam is capable of intercepting and answering automatically to unknown senders, requesting their certification, ensuring the reception and the archiving of only the significant e-mails. Users can search through their e-Mails chronologically. It guarantees the companies creation and conservation of and “historical archive” of the electronic communications.

The e-mails are archived in a cryptographic way, the ensuring maximum confidentiality. The e-mails archived are not modifiable. Even the access to the messages is authorized properly. The companies have the obligation, in some cases, of conserving electronic communication without being altered and with proof of transmission on non-rewritable media. Back-up onto CD/DVD is possible and browsing through them for mails is available through the interface. It gets completely integrated into the mail system and works equally well with a range of mail clients such as Outlook, Thunderbird, Express, Netscape, Eudora and in MS Exchange as well as Unix/Linux environments.

Cons: No particular problem but this is an early version yet, so one needs to watch for problems.

Overall: It meets a definite need for an organization as the right kind of functionality. A 4 star package overall.
