Super Email Extractor is designed to harvest e-mail addresses and user names from web sites using the HTTP protocol.
Pros: Any business on the net has to have the equivalent of a mailing list and in today’s context it is the e-mail list. While, like the direct mail list, one could buy a e-mail list it is easier if one could troll the net and collect a list of addresses by oneself. Super e-mail extractor is a program that can collect such a list. All it need to start with is directory list of URLs of sites that would be of interest. These are the companies who are likely prospects of the products and services that you are selling. Many such web sites list email of people in departments which are of interest. So if there’s a program which can dig out such e-mail addresses, it would be a low cost and low effort way of generating a list.
Super Email Extractor is an email extractor, is designed to harvest e-mail addresses and user names from web sites using the HTTP protocol. Super Email Extractor does not depend upon any additional software the way many email extractors depend on Internet Explorer and it can work through proxy servers. A e-mail harvester, to be effective, has to scan through a website to be able to find these e-mails. The trade off is through search vs. time. So to optimize search time one could specify scan depth and paths.
This software can spider through any html, CGI, PHP, ASP pages. The supported search engines include most of the major search engines such as Google, Lycos, Excite etc. The spider can generate up to 300 emails per minute.
Cons: This approach is increasingly becoming difficult as companies most often do not list individual e-mails on the sites any more. Quite often it is a group address for customer care, sales etc. Besides, after one has a list, how exactly to go about mailing is a tricky issue. At a minimum one has to meet the CAN-SPAM regulations not to be considered spam.
