The Diatris Game Pack is a collection of three Windows 95 games that are somewhat similar to Tetris. The difference being, that the Tetris objects are rotated by 45 degrees into the shape of diamonds. For all three games, the seven objects are identical. The only real differences to the three games are the method of manipulating and moving the objects that fall. The games combine the addictive nature of Tetris with new strategies for fitting diamond objects together. When you become really good, you will be able to play Y-Diatris or X-Diatris for 20 minutes non-stop without having to start a new game. For all the games, each placed shape is worth five points. High scores are kept for the games. Sound card owners will appreciate the digital sound effects and Midi based music.

If you're a fan of the good old Tetris game, you may have built quite a collection of tetris clones over the years. Some clones just repeat the original idea and concentrate on skins and other appearance issues, others slightly change the rules, adding, say, an exploding element which eliminates a couple of rows when you need it most. Others stick to plain Tetris but join it with a screensaver. Diatris Game Pack is a Tetris with a tilt.
Diatris Game Pack is a yet another Tetris clone which differs from others by its difficulty and change of rules. The tiles are old Tetris tiles but they all are rotated by 45 degrees, which makes them look like a bunch of diamonds stuck together - hence the Diatris name of the game. The pack consists of three games - three separate applications: Y-Diatris, X-Diatris and H-Diatris - which are of different levels of difficulty, Y-Diatris being the easiest and H-Diatris being the most difficult of all.
The game can be played either with a mouse or with keyboard controls. There are music and sound effects, but both get slightly annoying after the first few minutes of the game. Download this free game today and see that for yourself.
