If you like playing arcade games then there is huge possibility that you have encountered space shooter games that call upon you to save the planet from alien invaders. This exciting genre which first marked its presence decades back still rules the roost and has seen countless avatars being released. Recently we tried our hands at Envoy 1.0 which is a pure space shooter game that offers stupid fun and addictive enjoyment for hours at a stretch.
On launch the Envoy 1.0 puts you in a formidable battle ship and places a bunch of weapons at your disposal. You can choose to use either your primary weapons or rely on secondary ones to vaporize the alien packs that keep coming your way. The graphics are satisfactory for an arcade game and the theme music too is right on the score. Special sound effects have been intelligently thought out and game manages to suck you right in. The weapons and power status is displayed in the left side corner of the screen and the game allows you to choose levels. As your spaceship scrolls vertically ahead you need to be very alert in order to avoid weapons hurled by your enemies. Also in order to extend your game run, you need to acquire power packs. The game though is bit heavy at over one sixty three MBs for a typical space shooter but the overall ambience it manages to create justifies its download.
A bit more complicated than an average space shooter, the Envoy 1.0 manages to grip your attention from the moment you start playing it and its exciting game play earns it a score of three rating stars. If your idea of spending a lazy afternoon involves having a blast by shooting ships out of space then this is a game that you would like to dig.
