EcoWar is a simple ecosystem simulator that allows the user to learn about how different plant and animal species interact with each other. By observing species interactions the user can gain an understanding of important environmental concepts such as biodiversity and evolution. EcoWar can be used as a passive educational tool by allowing the user to only observe what is happening in the environment or it can be used as an active educational medium by requiring the user to interact with the environment to achieve an objective. Included are eleven scenarios which allow the user to explore many aspects concerning the interaction of species and ecosystem management. Each scenario comes with a worksheet which the user can work through to gain the most out of the lesson. These worksheets can be printed out and filled in while the user is working with EcoWar. While the simulator is running the user can change the environment and evolve new species.
