Sudoku Epic is a Mac version of the famous game, Sudoku that often makes it near day’s comic strips in many newspapers. You can generate puzzles in sizes from 4x4 to 16x16 and difficulties from very easy to very hard.

Pros: Sudoku Epic runs on simple logic that we have been known since ages. It provides a simple GUI and block sizes ranging between 4x4 and 16x16 with five difficulty levels from simplest to hardest. An assistant provides hints to highlight desired cell, current cell and even the entire solution. Editor allows the users to input the puzzles from the newspapers and also provides a ready solution to them if required. Sudoku Epic has been programmed so as to generate random puzzles every time. Interaction takes place on nice scenic backgrounds and a full-screen gaming environment. These scenic views keep on changing at random and clock counts for the time elapsed. Unofficial trademark of its makers, cursor displays magic wand like sparkling effect as it is moved across the screen. Well, it seems game makers have understood games are for players and not vice-versa. Harsh and rigid logic could sour the sales so we might see many new titles in all genres with user friendly logic in near future. Players cannot spend hours decoding Sudoku puzzles hence Sudoku Epic features another user-friendly ‘save-now-play-later’ functionality.

Cons: Mandatory entry of player name in the highest score column feels a little irritating. There should have been a means of skipping the same.
