Editor's review

Chess is one game which is never likely to go out of fashion. Generations prior to us have played and enjoyed this game and generations after us will probably keep doing so. Chess, though slow has a distinctly unique charm to it which is why it is still so popular even today. People enjoy a game over tea and snacks or playing against an opponent online and even in chess tournaments players are racking their brains to get the better of their opponents. If you are looking to play chess on your system you need to look at Multiplayer Chess 1.0.0 application comes across as a remarkable chess game.

The application boasts of a decent interface and is very easy to navigate. The objective of the game chess is to move one’s subjects such that the opponent’s king is captured. The first and foremost subject of the game is the pawn. The pawn is can has the most number of pieces in the game and many a times can be a cause for victory or defeat. The pawn can move only one step at a time. Its opening move is allowed with two blocks of frontal movement in the opening move and then one step in the following moves. A pawn can capture any of its opponent’s pieces diagonally. The rook is placed at either end of the chessboard in the second line. It can move horizontally or vertically any number of steps and can capture the opponent’s pieces in the same manner. The knight is placed two blocks away from the king on one side and two steps away from the minister on another. It can move two and a half steps i.e. two steps either frontwards or backwards and then one step on either side. It can capture the same way too. Bishops move diagonally any number of steps as long as there is no other subject blocking their path and can capture the same way too. Bishops are placed in the board such that one covers the white squares while the other covers the black one.

Multiplayer Chess 1.0.0 application games scores well on account of its overall feature set and the user interface and it earns a score of three rating points.

Publisher's description

The object of chess is to move your pieces to capture the opponent's king. A pawn can only move forward, it can move 2 steps on its first move and then one step on subsequent moves. A pawn can move one step diagonally to capture the piece on its diagonal. When your opponent's pawn has just moved 2 steps and lands on a side of your pawn, then you can capture that pawn by moving your pawn diagonally to the back of that pawn, this is called en passant. Rooks can move and capture horizontally and vertically for any distance. Knights can move by moving 2 steps forward and then 1 step sideways. Bishops can move and capture diagonally for any distance. Queens can move and capture in any direction and in any distance. The king can move and capture in any direction but only for one step. The king can also perform a move called castling, where the king moves 2 steps towards a rook and the rook will be moved to the side of the king on the opposite side. In order to perform castling, the king and the rook must both have not been moved, and that there must be no pieces between the king and the rook, also, the king and the two empty spaces from the king to the rook must not be under attack. When you move a piece to attack the king (i.e. the piece can capture the king on its next move), then the opponent must make a move so that the king is no longer under attack, failing to do so will result in a checkmate and the opponent loses. If you moved so that the opponent cannot make any valid move, then this is called stalemate and the result is a draw game.
