A tool that allows you to convert from MS Access to MySQL databases and vice versa.

Pros: This is an automation tool, designed for automating the process of converting databases from MS Access to MySQL format and vice versa. What makes it better than other tools of this kind is that it maintains Table relationships during the conversion process. If a user seeks more control over the conversion process, this is possible through a very fine grained control over the entire process: scheduling of tasks, field selection, renaming tables to what you consider to be more suitable, command line support for advanced users used to doing command line conversions with support for all standard options, and extended support for a wide range of character sets. A Task Manager allows you to view saved conversion tasks (conversion tasks with the specified tasks can be saved for later use). A set of data filters can be used to filter out and convert only those fields that are desired. Special characters can be selectively used for replacement when converting. When converting from MySQL to Access you can select the output database format (such as ’97, 2000, XP, or 2003). You can select MySQL 3.x, 4.x, and 5.x as output formats when converting from Access. It supports a number of output table formats including MySQL, MyISAM, InnoDB, Heep, ISAM and BDB. It supports the conversion of indexes, Auto Increment fields, composite primary keys and Constraints. You can choose to convert the table structure along with the data, or simply the table structure, which you can then use to store new data.

Cons: No significant limitations. The interface requires some prior understanding of databases and database terminology. That is understandable given the domain that it is targeted at.

Overall: 5 stars. A very good tool and seemed to do database conversions back and forth between MS Access and MySQL without any issues.
