Easy Movie Organizer is a tool to organize your movie lists, and share and exchange them with friends and family.
Pros: Easy Movie Organizer is a tool that basically helps you to organize your movie collection by entering (or downloading) relevant information about each and every title. This information is then stored in the software’s database and can be used later on for searching, sorting and other organizing functions. It has a number of movie templates that you can choose to print movie information in, and movie data can be exported into various formats (including PDF, RTF, EXCEL, HTML, TXT, JPEG, BMP, GIF, PNG, TIFF, CSV and more). A Power Search facility lets you search by many different fields including actor, director, title, genre, year of release, etc. If you maintain the physical location of movies according to some order then it can store that information also (make sure you don’t change locations for these movies much). There is a movie counter that shows the number of movies that you have currently in your collection at all times. A Wish List lists all movies that you want to purchase or see. There is direct linking with Amazon.com to download movie information by UPC codes or movie titles.
Cons: To have a truly sensible organization of movies on your computer, the onus is on you, the user. In any case, movie organization is not a difficult task as compared to say music (MP3) organization. Once you have decided on a basic strategy you can move forward with that. As for the Easy Movie Organizer it does little in the way of actually organizing movies on the hard disk (i.e. moving them around). What it is good for is to track movie lists. Lists of what movies you have in your collection (on your hard disk as well as on DVDs etc.) and what movies that you are looking forward to see (i.e. forthcoming movies). Here, the interface has issues and needs significant improvement for it to be useful on a daily basis.
Overall: 3 stars. It is a movie organizer in the sense of cataloging and maintaining lists of movies to see. It does that function decently but has issues with the interface that will discourage users from using it.
