This piece of software lets you create 3D terrains to represent landscapes for games and other applications.

Visual Terrain Maker is a simple 3D-Modeling program allows visually create landscapes/maps for games and other purposes. The program is compatible with Windows XP, 2000, NT etc. A landscape creation wizard lets you create the terrains easily. The only prerequisite is that your machine should have OpenGL v1.1 or higher present. There are no other special hardware or software requirements. It is not dependent on the type of video adapters you have in the system either. Easy, "WYSIWYG"-style visual landscape modeling lets you whatever complex kind of landscape you need to create. You are able to view in real time the deformations being applied and decide what you need. Should you like to add a surface texture you can use a bitmap image to apply over the modeled terrain. 256x256 pixels square images can only be used.

Visual Terrain Maker can export to DirectX file format (*.X) and also can save and load internal file format. You can apply certain standard deformation to generate these terrains. these include Sine, Cone, Smoother, Sharpening tools. It is quite fast and is stable also very compact in size.
