Picture Resize Genius includes the ability to batch resize pictures/ photos/ image functions for the purpose of email and Web sites, or just to save space on your hard drive, or whatever reason you might have.

Pros: Quite often a batch of pictures needs to be resized. May be for loading on a photo-sharing site, e-mailing or even saving space on hard drives. In this day and age batches of photos are generated/ acquired pretty quickly via the digital camera or even the mobile phone. Picture Resize Genius includes the ability to batch resize pictures for any of these purposes. Other actions possible with the program are adding a text layer or watermarking a picture. Automatic renaming also is available. The user interface is simple. Tools to specify a folder or adding images for a batch of conversions to be done are there. Then there’s a group of commands that let the actual processing be done. These are the resizing, watermarking and renaming functions. While specifying size of photos one can just change one dimension in the fixed aspect ratio mode so the other dimension get changed automatically. The other alternative is to fix both dimensions. Source and destination files/ folders are specified in this section too.

Next section of commands specifies the exact action to be carried out. Sizing has been described. Additionally JPG quality also can be specified. Watermarking options are text strings and image logos. Position on the image, transparency and some tilt angle can be specified. Renaming string followed by the number sequence can also be specified. On the output settings you can specify a particular folder as also if EXIF information should be removed and if creation time to be modified. Picture Resize Genius support more than 40 picture file format and it can convert the file format to GIF, JPG, TIFF, PNG, BMP, MIFF or TGA etc.

Cons: Some minimal edit facilities would have been useful such as automatic color, contrast, brightness enhancements and may be red eye removal.

Overall a nice and easy package easily a 4 star performer.
