Hiro Player is software for digital media that can play music, video, images, and recorded TV, etc. Besides the media play features this software lets you download media clips to various portable media players and keep them in sync with your main entertainment computer. The player interface is quite clean. On the one side, you have a framed area that looks like a TV and below that you have the play controls in the usual familiar format of play/pause, forward, reverse and stop buttons. There is a running display of the file being displayed. One nice feature of this is that this panel can be closed off when a clip is playing. Same is true of the panel showing the playlist. When both of these are closed the display would look just like a TV set.

The player would not only play the locally stored content but also the streamed content from the Internet. For this purpose, it supports several of the streaming media formats. Hiro Player is compatible with Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7.Overall a nice looking player. No particularly special features in the software. There is no listing of formats, this player can handle, either with the product description at the download center or at the publisher`s site. It is not at all clear if it will handle the current MPEG4, H.264 video. You need to use the trial period to check out the formats you may be using and make sure the video and other media plays alright.
