This is an edit tool that will help you cut out pieces of audio track.
Though it is called a MP3 cutter, the program can handle several formats as input and create the tracks in one of those formats also. These include MP3, AAC, MP4, WMA, OGG, and WAV. The input clip could be of any one of these formats and the output will be created in the same format. This will let you create music tracks that contain the parts you like or create ringtones out of these smaller pieces. Any other audio recording can be polished up by removing the noisy or distorted parts. Pieces of audio could be used as alerts in many applications. To get the cutting done successfully, you need to be able to identify the beginning point and the end point on the track precisely. This tool helps with marking of the begin and end points.
Time indicators help of course. But what is more useful is the ability to play the selected track at any convenient speed, other than the full speed. You are then able to mark the points very precisely. When the cutting is done, the same player will let you make sure it is done right. Besides the play control, rest of the controls are also very intuitive. Other than the track position control and the playback speed control, there is nothing more to set. You are able to browse the hard disk both for selecting the input file or to define the path for the file to be saved. Facility to do the cutting on other formats such as AAC (as in audio of movies in DVDs) would have been a useful addition. It is a nice, handy and easy to use application, otherwise.
