This is a program for drawing math functions and solving equations.

Pros: The metaphor used in the application is that of the school blackboard. Several can be set up and number of functions can be drawn on them. The basic application being that of drawing graphs of functions. You write the function in the space provided as a algebraic equation and the corresponding graph is produced on the display area or the board. Boards are stacked together as tabbed pages on the display area. Each board can be saved individually as an image page as well as printed. Besides drawing the functions, the application can solve equations, find intersections, show min/max points, plot tangents to a function, find derivatives and so on. Jmath is positioned as a Computer Algebra System (CAS) for high school students. Several menu items make the application quite flexible. These include file menu that helps set up a new board or add details to an existing one. View menu can set up a grid, zoomed view as also set theme and default scale. Storage functions help store board, function and workspace and conversely retrieve these items when needed. Algebra menu adds the functionality of solving an equation, solving inequality and evaluating an expression through the calculator function. Options include exporting to a file, function with parameters, line from two points, clean, set 0,0 to center, list of areas, go to x,y, auto spacing, time limit setting and language version.

Cons: No apparent issues here.

Overall: This is a nice application with easy to use controls and explaining the math concepts graphically. This is good for a 4 star rating.
