says that it converts swf files, but it won`t load them. The File Open dialog box doesn`t list .swf as an option to open.

Don’t bother downloading and installing if you are do not plan on purchasing full version, unregistered includes large intrusive water marks on all files to the point of making them unusable for anything other then evaluative purposes.
