RasterVect is a vectorizer, which means a program that converts raster images to vector format. It achieves the purpose of editing uneditable scanned drawings. Original paper drawings if need to be edited, can be scanned first. The program has TWAIN support for importing these drawings from scanners. These are then converted to vector formats such as DXF, WMF, EMF etc., which are supported by most CAD applications.      There's always been a nasty problem of finding a converter from raster to vector format. For example, you scanned a drawing but raster image format does not allow you to zoom it in without considerable loss in quality etc., and drawing the picture once again in a vector image editor is out of question.      RasterVect is a versatile application that lets you convert any raster image to a selection of vector formats, namely DXF, WMF, EMF, EPS and AI. These formats are supported by most CAD applications, such as Adobe Illustrator and AutoCAD. The program recognizes lines, circles, arcs and other geometric figures. RasterVect keeps scale of the initial drawing and has a filter that removes 'noise' from it. There is built-in TWAIN support, too.
