Pros: SE BOM Extractor is a SolidEdge automation tool that extracts Bill of Materials from 3D Solid Edge files into SQL Server database for easy integration with 3rd party software, like ERP and SCM systems. This facilitates use of the product bill of material data into various other enterprise software and documents that include ERP, the accounting system, supply chain management system, CNC manufacturing machinery and documents like websites, catalogs, assembly instructions and various printed brochures.

Instead of manually updating Excel files or BOM database in ERP system, which sometimes can take forever, SE BOM Extractor will automatically extract all BOM information from Solid Edge assembly and part files along with saving all the product and part model data as pictures in JPG format.

The application works with the Solid Edge modeling system and the MS SQL Server systems. Paths to the SE files and the default directory to extract images to and whether to save subassembly and part images are set up. You can specify whether to render a 3D Solid Edge model, use wireframe, outline or other image creation properties and fit every image to a specified size. Full extraction or incremental ones can be specified. Incremental BOMs are the ones that changed after the last full extraction. After extraction the complete BOM data goes to a central database and then can be manipulated any which way. That includes formatting & printing and of course exporting to other applications.

All settings are through several interactive pages that are easy to understand & learn.

Cons: No problematic issues here.

Overall: An useful application that fulfills a need with easy interaction, deserves a 4 star rating easily.
