Free Audio Editor is a multi-award winning mp3 editing software tool. The Free Audio Editor software includes a powerful audio editor feature that can edit MP3 as well as WMA, WAV, and OGG files with ease.

Pros: This is a free utility that lets you edit audio files. The application provides for a visual paradigm that helps one to use cut & paste style edits easily. The formats that are supported are MP3, WMA, WAV and OGG. The visual set up that shows the audio file as frequency spectrum make commands like Cut, Copy, Delete Selection, Delete Silence, Paste, Paste From File, Mix, Mix From File available to the editor. Professional editing of audio files for post production becomes that much easier. Repeated levels of undo, redo and repeat allows to track-back from any mistakes made during editing. Whole set of effects can be used on the recorded audio files. These include Amplify, Compressor, Delay, Equalize, Fade In and Fade Out, Flanger, Invert, Normalize, Phaser, Reverb, Reverse, Silence, Shrink, Stretch, Vibrato etc. While the editor helps with post production polishing the original recordings can be done via microphone and other inputs available to the sound card on the PC. Once again the formats into which recording is done into WAV, MP3, WMA, OGG file type. The application supports CD ripping. It supports the complementary functions like burning the finished audio files into a CD in WAV format or as an MP3 CD.

Cons: No negatives noticed.

Overall a reasonable application, the interface is quite intuitive. A rating of 3 stars is quite reasonable.
