Gold Wave Editor can record any sound passing through any line of your sound card. For example, you can record sound being played back by an external program, sound from a microphone, an external LP, cassette, CD/DVD player etc.

That lets precise viewing and marking points at which other actions to be performed. The waveforms can be viewed Zoom Full, Zoom In, Zoom Out and Zoom Vertical. A built-in sound editor allows you to cut, trim, and merge your recordings. The complete set of edit effects are Cut, Copy, Delete Selection, Delete Silence, Paste, Paste From File, Mix, Mix From File. You can also apply a set of effects and filters that help produce very clean version of your recordings. Effects that can be applied include (Amplify, Compressor, Delay, Equalize, Fade In and Fade Out, Flanger, Invert, Normalize, Phaser, Reverb, Reverse, Silence, Shrink, Stretch, Vibrato, etc. Filters that can be applied to any part of the audio include Band Pass Filter, FFT Filter, High Pass Filter, High Shelf Filter, Low Pass Filter, Low Shelf Filter, Notch Filter etc. Add and edit extra information to your audio files (Album, Artist, Comments, Copyright, Genre, Title, Year).
