It can also record the DirectShow/DirectX technology applications, like the video playback inside Windows Media Player or some games. You can create material for sales/marketing demos, training videos, help documentation, customer support material etc. You can choose what area of the screen to capture; the full screen or any area of your screen to record; or just record the activities of one application window which you are interested in. Output video files can created in one of the following formats, WMV, Flash video (FLV) or MPEG4 video (MP4).

Cons: Screen areas that can be captured can only be rectangular. Highlighting of items as well as ability to capture some arbitrary area would have added to the utility of the application.
