Are you movie lover then you must like to copy the movie you took from the store for rent or from your friend? But last time you tried to copy it to another DVD so you can watch it when you want; the quality was lost and maybe the copied disc was not working properly. Ideal DVD Copy software’s downloading and installation process is as easy as the working of the program. The appearance of the launch screen is amazing and it has a quite interesting shape. The light blue shades of the program give a soothing feeling to the eyes of the user. It has a much of a simpler functioning for performing the copying task. The very first thing it shows is the source from where the files or movie is to be copied. You can choose it to be the hard disk or a disc inserted by you. Browse and the DVD video files contained by the folder are shown. The destination also could be either the hard disk or the inserted disc. Browse and select the destination, set the copy mode to be entire disc, only the main movie or split to 2 DVDs. While choosing the main movie a new dialog box appears for making the selection regarding the copying of the movie. There are other settings also that need to be considered. You can create a temporary folder, set a sound file and also choose the skin for program. You can set the copying options to be ignore read error, etc. Select the size of DVD and even choose to shrink DVD to fit to the storage. Even you need to select the burning engine and speed also. Tried it out on a dvd with Disney protection but it scrambled all the vob files and when playing back the movie did not make sense. Second time around with the same DVD and I got pictures but no sound. I resorted to extracting the relevant vob files then arranging them and burning with a different burner. Ideal was a disappointment.

Really great. It did well on the DVD "Leatherheads" I recently bought. I also tried other programs but they failed only Ideal works for me.

Excellent. I have been looking for a dvd copy program for a long time and tried a lot of different programs along the way, but ideal dvd copy is the best that i found out there. It`s simple, fast speed and perfect quality. And it do work well on commercial DVDs.

I have had this program over a year now..and found it to be FANTASTIC!!!
its simple and easy to use, shrinks large dvds to a single disc without loosing picture and sound quality..the dvds i copy can be played on any dvd player..

This is the last update to my initial review, and the final results of my experience with Ideal DVD. After trying everything they suggested (updating to a NEW version, disabling my antivirus & firewall software & finally trying other software to prove that my burner works, I have 1 copy that will play on anything other than my laptop!!! Between the approximately $40 registration fee & 4 containers of blank DVD`s (Memorex, Maxell, Sony & Verbatim) my wife says that copy has cost me over $90. The Ideal software has stopped burning anything but coasters, but a freeware program I tried made the one usable copy!! I just downloaded & registered one of the major "Cloning" programs & after $150+ I have now begun copying my movies!! But it would have been cheaper to just replace them as they wore out!!! If there had been a rating of zero I would have used it instead...

While it sometimes works during the "Free Trial" it has made no DVD copies that play on anything but my laptop. If I wanted to watch movies on my laptop I wouldn`t have a big screen TV!!!

My earlier review was during the trial period, and since registering it I need to update it. The movies recorded during the Trial period worked fine until I discovered that a little over half way thru the movies I had no picture, just sound from there on!! Since then I have tried everything their support people have suggested, but the number of DVD "coasters" has added up to more money than the registration fee!!! I have tried 4 different brands of blank DVD`s, so it is not the recordable media, and my drive is new & has the latest drivers.

This program is one of the few shareware programs I have found that does exactly what it says it does! It is simple & easy to use, and really works!!
