Network Serial Port Kit allows you to connect any serial port devices over TCP/IP network or Internet. Program creates and connects up to 254 virtual serial ports at a time. Physical COM ports can be connected over the network as well.

Features: This application enables connection of serial port devices to be able to communicate over a TCP/IP network as well as the Internet. Local virtual serial port pairs also can be created. That lets you do true emulation of the remote serial port that is an exact copy of the remote shared COM port. This port kit is able to automatically detect if the network connection with the remote site is broken. The program will automatically reconnect as soon as communication is restored. Some communications applications expect the serial devices to have a maximum anticipated delay. It is possible the network delays may cause this to be exceeded. The serial port kit has latency compensation built-in that can avoid these delays.

It is possible to connect to a physical COM port located on a remote computer over the network. You can have up to 254 such ports in existence at one time. This makes it easy to get data from serial devices directly. Devices such as bar code scanners, modems, sensors, meters, gages, RF equipment, telephone PBX systems, laboratory or industrial instruments, and so on can be read from over the net. A PC acting as a serial port server will let you connect over TCP/IP to remote hosts. Remote hosts are able to thus communicate over a network and even over the internet. Other advantage is this remote host can simply use existing Windows communications software to communicate to the serial devices. The TCP/IP communication that makes it happen being transparent to the whole process.

Overall: It does make communication with serial devices quite easy.
