An add-on for BitTorrent applications that boosts (improves) downloads.

Pros: BitTorrent now has an EZ booster. The EZ booster is an add-on for the BitTorrent client that sits in your system tray without affecting the performance of your computer in any way, except for the fact that it improves the download speeds on your BitTorrent application. It overcomes some of the limitations of the BitTorrent application such as not taking a conservative approach to bandwidth utilization. EZ booster aims to utilize all the available bandwidth at all times (which can sometimes result in almost 100% utilization during idle periods). Greater number of simultaneous downloads also improves the download times. EZ booster also searches more frequently for sources for a given file, which results in better speeds on the discovery of more sources. These features also result in an improvement in overall search performance with more sources showing up in the search results.

EZ Booster is also better at maintaining constant speeds over long periods, so that on an average the performance is always better. There is a speed improvement even for faster connections and quite a bit of improvement for slow connections. The interface requires almost nothing to be done by the user, all the user needs to do is to click on “ACCELERATE!”.

Cons: The interface does not allow for any customization. Whatever pre-configured options there are, a user has to be satisfied with that. Graphs are a gimmick and provide no useful information at all.

Overall: 4 stars. Works fairly well, especially on slower connections. But it is dogged by a poor interface and no customization options.
