A peer to peer file sharing utility. A tool to search and download Torrents.

Pros: BitTorrent PRO is a peer to peer file sharing utility that can be used to search and download all types of content inclusing music, movies, games and other files. It is basically a Torrent client that utilizes the decentralized BitTorrent PRO peer to peer network for searching and downloading files. In this regard, it works much the same as other Torrent clients and has much of the same functionality. These include a user interface with library management, monitoring of uploads and downloads, monitoring of each and every file being downloaded as part of a Torrent, swarming downloads, chatting with online peers, and customization options such as setting upstream / downstream speeds and more. There is the ability to preview files as they are being downloaded. This feature works well and is not so common. Other features are a fast-resume, disk-caching and most importantly automatic port mapping.

Cons: Much like the uTorrent client it has a simplified interface. Although its name is PRO there doesn’t seem to be a lot of enhanced functionality (or speed) in the case of this application. Even as far as customization goes the options are still fairly limited. All of these factors together end up meaning that this is not a lot better than other Torrent clients, and in fact there may be no reason to use this one instead of others.

Overall: 3 stars. 4 stars also possible. It works, but that’s just about all we can say about it. Not too many advanced functions or a higher speed to justify the PRO of the title.
