Pros: The LimeWire SpeedUp Pro is an add on tool for LimeWire that is designed to improve download performance. By managing downloads better through frequent disconnections, slow connections and network problems it seeks to improve the download performance by having better average speeds over time and hence lower download times in the long run. This is especially true for connections that are unreliable and experience network problems. On these connections and on connections that are comparatively slower, users will experience a performance gain. The add on also seeks to utilize all the available bandwidth that can result in improvements, especially when the user is idle and not actively using the connection to browse the internet.

The creators also promise improvements in search performance, through more simultaneous searches and better (or more) results on average.

Cons: There are no customization options available in the limited interface that is designed to do only one thing and that is to hit the button to make the speed up possible. Due to this it is not really for advanced users who will find this limitation frustrating. It performs only marginally better, if at all on broadband or faster connections. No significant improvement was seen in search performance.

Overall: 3 stars. 4 stars also possible. Works pretty decently. But there are no customization options and generally it is a limited interface. There is only a marginal improvement on fast connections.
