A tool for managers of cyber cafes, to manage all functions including logging and inventory.
Pros: TrueCafe is a complete Cyber Caf短anagement tool that has a host of functions for this purpose including logging of users and inventory control. Customers can be charged according to their usage and the intuitive interface allows the Cyber Caf短anager to view and monitor usage in real time. Once a user is done, he / she can be charged accordingly, and they can be handed a custom receipt printed from within the system. The system also allows for inventory control and management so that for selling food items, charging for printing of documents, coffee and other beverages, and other articles does not require the use of a different system or software. Everything can now be managed centrally with TrueCafe.
There are a host of features. Some that are worth mentioning are: Wi-Fi billing (so that this software can also be used at Hot-Spots); Thin Client support; ticketing and billing; generation and distribution of licensing keys; pre-paid as well as post-paid sessions; URL logging, traffic calculations and analysis, and generation of reports; advanced security options; automatic (as well as) manual backing up of critical data including database and configuration files; tracking of user’s web browsing (to ensure that certain websites are not accessed); and remote controlling of terminals, including shut-down, restart and controlling functions through a remote terminal.
Cons: There are no real limitations. The interface takes a little time to get used but for the people that it is targeted towards that’s not a big deal. They can spend a little time learning it. Thankfully the learning itself takes place intuitively and a tutorial or such is not really required. There is a question of privacy for users who might be on the Cyber Caf笠It would have been better if the program had taken the approach of blocking certain kinds of content rather than tracking user’s usage pattern.
Overall: 5 stars. A good tool and it has a decent interface. For managers of cyber cafes this is a very reasonable bet.
