An add-on for the eMule file sharing program to improve its performance over time.

Pros: To improve download speeds on your eMule file sharing program you can rely on the eMule Acceleration patch. It is an add-on for eMule that consumes few resources of its own and sits in the system tray. It periodically searches for more sources to download a given file from, which in turn, when new sources are found, improves the download speed. Moreover, unlike eMule the add-on enables constant speeds over longer periods of time that also helps to improve the overall performance. The simplicity of the interface is such that the user just needs to start the program and click just one button and they are on their way.

Additional features include automatic resumption of paused downloads, automatic clean up of completed and corrupted and / or invalid files, and saving of configuration from the most recent run and its automatic loading on restart. Therefore there are a number of things that the user does not have to worry about anything other than just searching for the files they want to download and can then forget about it. Search performance is also improved because more sources are polled simultaneously.

Cons: The interface allows for no customization whatsoever. This will discourage advanced users from using this program. On connections that are fast there is hardly any improvement in performance.

Overall: 4 stars. It works pretty well on slower and unreliable connections, improving performance significantly. But no customization and little improvement on fast connections are still open issues.
