     There are a lot of hidden treasures in your Windows systems. Some of them used to be available as DOS applications - reachable from the command prompt only, dark and scary. Luckily for us, some software developers have a habit of remaking such tools into friendly Windows applications. PingIt is an example of that.
     PingIt is a one-feature tool that lets you, just as its DOS sibling, ping any server on the Internet or local intranet. You can leave the default settings for the ping speed as they are or change them to suit your requirements. The only thing you have to do is enter the server address and hit the 'Ping' button. The tool will minimize to the systems tray and ping the server you specified at regular intervals. If the PingIt icon is green, the server's okay, if not, the server is either slow or unavailable at all.
     The tool is free, fast, and compact in size. It doesn't require an installation process. Download this tool now and check it out yourself.
