A Mail Server monitor that works with the VisNetic Mail Server to determine the usage and efficiency of a company’s mail server. It enables the administrator to determine the most frequent users of email.
Features: Mail Access monitor for VisNetic Mail Server, works with the VisNetic Mail Server and enables an administrator or corporate manager to keep tabs on the emailing activity of all users on the local network. Mail Access Monitor records each and every email that is incoming or outgoing from the company’s local network by recording and logging it from the VisNetic Mail Server. It automatically categorizes the emails by sender or receiver (by email id as well as which domain). This information is then easily available in the form of graphs that make it easy to visualize the usage per domain, per user etc. This can be done by specifying different date ranges. Reports based on the logged information can also be created easily with the facility of adding the graphed statistics as required.
Mail Access Monitor can also work with the VisNetic Mail Server to limit the use of the mail server for personal use (by blocking out certain outgoing email addresses, as well as certain external domains) and in this way the email activity and therefore the efficiency of the mail server can be controlled.
Overall: This is a fairly good tool and features an excellent interface (both in terms of look and feel as well as ease of use). However, the term monitor is a bit misleading because all this software actually does is record the email activity (per user) and tells little or nothing about how efficiently your mail server is actually working. Thus it is a monitor of all email activity that passes in and out of the local network, and not a monitor of the mail server itself (i.e. checking its current status or performance etc.).
