A tool to enable deletion of browsing history from various browser’s Internet History and Cache folders.

Pros: Erase History is exactly what it says: it enables you to erase history. It is primarily for erasing history of visited websites on an Internet browser including Internet Explorer, Netscape, Opera, and other browsers. Additionally, it can also erase history from media players including RealPlayer, Windows Media Player, QuickTime and others. Some other recent file lists in Microsoft applications (MS Office, Windows Recent Files) and Adobe Acrobat can also be erased. All in all, it is a powerful tool for removing all kinds of recent history in many different applications. A nice feature is that it can protect your homepage from being modified automatically by a website that you are visiting – this is a great comfort.

Cons: The downloaded and installed version is actually called Tracks Eraser and this may cause some confusion. The interface is unattractive and has spelling errors among other things. The program got stuck when the “Test Mode” button was pressed (it wasn’t clear what that was for) and recovered after a long time when it suddenly displayed the test results – it was still not clear what the test was for although the results mentioned registry entries – why should a history eraser have to access the Windows registry. Log creation is also a little dicey. This product is only for users who are really concerned about their privacy, even then there are better products out there.

Overall: 2 stars. Cleans the required history but has a bad interface as well as the questionable test mode.
