A JAVA-applet for uploading files to a web server.
Pros: MyUploader is a JAVA applet designed to make uploading tasks easier. It is primarily designed for uploading files to a particular web server. It greatly simplifies uploading tasks because you can select multiple files that need to be uploaded at the same time and then click the “upload” button, thereafter the program will take care of the upload while displaying how much progress has been made. It is HTTP and HTTPS based and has support for a host of different platforms – PHP, ASP, .NET, Perl, ColdFusion and of course JAVA. A very nice and intuitive secure interface with multi-language support and platform-independent Proxy support. It allows for image resizing so that you can make the image fit to your size specifications.
Other advanced features are the ability to upload an entire folder, dragging-and-dropping of multiple upload files, uploading of large files, file filtering and finally compression using ZIP format.
The interface is great looking and wonderful because of its very simplicity, requires almost no learning curve to master all the basic functions. If you are used to using Windows it will be no trouble to use this. But having said that it also supports UNIX, Linux and Mac OSX. All in all, a very useful upload tool, ideal for all kinds of file and media uploads.
Cons: Only for HTTP and HTTPS based (web) servers, there is a different product for FTP based uploads. Requires Java plugin 1.4.2.
Overall: 5 stars. No reason why it does not deserve the highest rating.
